Titans fall 2-1 to Defending 4A State Champion Leanordtown

September 8, 2007...  In their second game of the 2007 THS Tournament of Champions, the Titans fell 2-1 to 2006 4A State Champion Leonardtown.

The Titans began the game strong in the opening ten minutes with excellent opportunities to take the lead.  Junior Danielle Roos struck the post on a restart from 25 yards and the Leonardtown goalkeeper made a brilliant save on senior Courtney Yee's breakaway.  Unfortunately, having nothing to show for this ten minute surge, the Titans quickly found themselves down 2-0 after the Raiders got behind the Titan defense twice in a three minute span to take the lead.

In the second half, the Titans began to mount more pressure and in the 73rd minute, junior Stephanie Andrews drove a serve through the Raiders backline which senior Courtney Yee buried on a first time touch to draw the Titans closer.  The Titans found several more opportunities in the games final minutes but were unable to even the score.

On the game, the teams each recorded 5 shots with sophomore Titans goalkeeper Sarah Jo Hayden recording 2 saves.
