Alumni Excel During Fall 2007 Campaign
January 1, 2008... Titan alumni excelled at the collegiate level
during the fall 2007 season, helping their teams to successful campaigns
along the way.
Molly
Franklin, a 2006 NSCAA/Adidas HS All-American and Maryland State
Player of the Year, had a strong sophomore season for
Clemson University in 2007. Franklin recorded 2 goals and 10
assists in 2007, giving her 8 goals and 14 assists in her first two
years. The two year starter, helped lead Clemson to a 12-6-5
record and a second round appearance
in the NCAA Tournament. The Tigers finished the year ranked #28 in
the NSCAA/Adidas National Poll. Franklin was named to the Carolina
Cup All-Tournament Team and the Soccer Buzz National Elite Team of the
Week for the week of September 4.
Amanda Meehan, a 2006 1st
Team All-State selection and 2-time Titan Team MVP, wasstarting defender
for
Loyola College for the second consecutive year. The sophomore
defender started all 21 games for the Greyhounds, recording 1 assist.
She helped lead the side to a 10-6-5 record, the MAAC Conference
Championship, and a berth in the NCAA Tournament. Meehan earned
MAAC All-Academic Team Honors for her performance in the classroom.
Jessie
Nino moved on to
Wesley College for her freshmen year in 2007 where she made an
immediate impact for the Wolverines. Nino led the team in scoring
with 16 goals and 8 assists and was also the leading scorer in the
Capital Athletic Conference. She was named the conference player
of the week for the week of Sept 17. Her dynamic play led the
Wolverines to a 12-8-1 record and a spot in the CAC Conference
semifinals.
Chrissy Conrad joined
Frostburg
State University for her freshmen campaign. Conrad saw action
in 17 games and scored 3 goals for the season. She helped lead
Frostburg to a 16-5 record, a berth in the AMCC Championship Game.
Class of 2007 graduate, Cami
Griffin, joined the Towson University side for her freshmen season.
Griffin played in 1 game before redshirting the remainder of the year. |
